Through practical training and livelihood-oriented interventions, Her Voice enables women to build their capabilities, strengthen their confidence and explore opportunities for income generation.

Fashion Saheli – Stitching Skills for Sustainable Livelihoods
As part of Her Voice, Artemis Health Sciences Foundation has partnered with Eternity Foundation for Fashion Saheli which provides women with practical, hands-on training in stitching and tailoring for 6 months. The programme equips participants with marketable skills that can be used to pursue employment opportunities or establish home-based tailoring enterprises.

Beyond technical training, the initiative focuses on building confidence, self-reliance and entrepreneurial thinking, enabling women to turn their skills into sustainable sources of income while balancing their family responsibilities.

Beneficiary Stories

Sarita, 31
Turning Skills into Opportunity

Sarita, a 31-year-old homemaker from Uttar Pradesh, lives with her family in Gurugram. When her husband lost his job as a labourer, the family faced increasing financial challenges, particularly in meeting the educational needs of their two children.

Determined to support her family, Sarita stepped forward to build skills and explore opportunities for income generation. She enrolled in the Commercial Apparel and Accessories Training at the Her Voice Centre, where she received hands-on training in tailoring and embroidery.

Today, Sarita uses her skills to create garments, accessories and handmade products, particularly multi-purpose pouches. She has started receiving orders from the local market, enabling her to contribute to the family income and support her children’s education.

Sarita’s journey reflects how access to practical skills can create pathways towards confidence, economic participation and greater financial resilience.

Priyanka Jatav, 25
Building Towards Independence

Priyanka Jatav, 25, from Khairthal, Rajasthan, has faced financial hardships from an early age. Living in Gurugram while supporting her elderly parents in their village, she works as a night-shift childcare worker, but her limited income often makes it difficult to meet family needs.

Determined to create a better future, Priyanka joined tailoring and stitching training at the Her Voice Centre in November 2025. Her dedication and steady progress enabled her to begin producing carry bags against external orders received by the Centre.

Earning ₹5 per bag, Priyanka has started generating an additional source of income and building small savings. She now hopes to complete her training and establish her own micro-enterprise.

Her long-term goal is deeply personal—to use her earnings to construct a toilet for her parents, contributing to their health, safety and dignity.

Priyanka’s journey demonstrates how skills, opportunity and determination can create a pathway towards economic independence and meaningful change.
